Candle Safety Tips

GEL CANDLE SAFETY TIPS • Don’t leave a burning candle unattended. • Don’t’ burn gel candles for longer than 2 hours at any one time. • Don’t’ burn the candle all the way down to the bottom of the container. Leave at least 1 inch of gel in the bottom. • Keep the wicks short! The longer the wick, the higher and hotter the flame—and the more likely the gel will ignite. • Before you burn a candle, trim the wick! Turn the cooled candle upside down and trim with scissors or toenail clippers. • Place candles on flat, nonporous, heat-resistant surfaces. • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. If you suspect a child has eaten a gel candle, call your Poison Control Center immediately. • Always burn free-standing gel votive candles in a glass candle container and the best part..........when your candle has burned down to the end of the wick, just peel out the cooled contents and put into your tart burner or simmer pot! Absolutely no waste!
